What’s important to you?
Jane has always been active – hillwalking, being a member of the gym and enjoying keep fit classes. As her son’s mental health issues deteriorated she found it increasingly hard to find the time and motivation to look after own health.
What would make a good break?
She bought a gym membership to give her the motivation to go to the gym as she missed the exercise. She notices a real improvement in her health – both physically and mentally which helps her to ‘keep functioning’ as well as possible.
How do you manage to get a break?
She used a grant to pay for a gym membership at her local gym. The flexibility of this means she can fit her visits to the gym around her caring role and has no limits on how she uses this.
