New Open University Course for Carers

The Open University has create a new course for carers – Caring Roles: Learning Lives

Caring Counts is a self reflection and planning course developed with and for carers. It is a free online course designed to help you gain a clearer understanding of who you are, identify your personal qualities and start to recognise the range of skills and abilities you’ve developed from your personal experiences and whilst caring.

The course features the stories and experiences of a range of carers from very diverse backgrounds and caring circumstances, who share their life in text and on film.

Caring Counts will help you to look forward, think about what you’d like to do now or in the future and make plans and actions that will help you get to where you hope to be. The course includes detailed information about career planning, for those thinking about employment, or those thinking about returning to work and/or study that you may have had to put on hold.

The course is for carers of any age and at any stage in their life or caring role.
