Health and Social Care for Adults in Midlothian-what works well and what could be better?
Your views are important.
The Scottish Government has passed a new law that will join Health and Social Care services for adults in Scotland. This is generally called the integration of health and social care. It will mean a significant change in the way that Local Authorities and the NHS work together. Lothian Health Board and Midlothian Council will be responsible together for providing care and planning health and social care services for the future. This is important because
- the number of people living in Midlothian is increasing
- people are living longer and, whilst their health is getting better, many people are living with long-term health conditions
Before they plan how to provide the most appropriate and most effective help and support they need to know what the important issues are for local people.
They have written a paper on what they think are the key health and care issues for adults living in Midlothian. They need to know if what they have written ties in with your experience, or whether they have missed anything important.
You can read it here: What’s important for you?
They need your help to tell them:
- What you think could be better about health and care services for adults
- What you think would help people to stay healthy.
Once they have gathered your views they will write a three year plan for local health and care services.
