Have your say - Dementia

The Health and Social Care Hot Topics Group is a partnership between community members and the Midlothian Health and Social Care Partnership.

Through lively debate and good communication the group aims to:

  • shape our health and care services and
  • find ways to work together to improve people’s health and quality of life.

The topic of their next meeting is developing a community response to dementia. They know that there will be more people living with dementia in the future. They want to support people affected by this disease. There is already a lot of good support available in Midlothian. They want to develop this further, for example by developing more dementia-friendly environments and social and peer networks to support people and reduce stigma and isolation. They also want to improve awareness and understanding of dementia. Join them to discuss how we can do this and how we can all work together to improve our community response to dementia.

The group is open to all interested people and they would very much like to welcome you.

  1. The date of the meeting is Thursday 26 May, 2pm-4pm at Dalkeith Older People’s Welfare Hall, St Andrew’s Street, Dalkeith (adjacent to Dalkeith Health Centre). Tea and coffee will be available from 1.30pm.
  2. Please book a place by phoning 0131 271 3411 or emailing . If you can’t come but would like to feed in to the discussion please contact Catherine and you can have a conversation by email or on the phone.
