Funding for healthy eating

Does your organisation want to help people in Midlothian to access and enjoy healthy food?
Small grants (up to £2000) and FREE training are available!
Following the successful “Food for Thought” grants scheme in Mayfield & Easthouses in 2013, NHS Lothian has provided funding for the Midlothian Food and Health Alliance to offer small grants and training to organisations across Midlothian.

Examples might include:

  • Introducing healthier options on menus
  • Setting up cooking or healthy eating groups
  • Getting people involved in growing food
  • Healthy meals for people experiencing hardship, e.g. in school holidays
  • Food hygiene / food and health training

If you’re keen to help us address health inequalities through increasing knowledge, skills and confidence to access and enjoy healthy food, get in touch for more information and an application pack.

Support will be available through the Midlothian Food and Health Alliance to help organisations develop their projects or put training into practice. You can apply for training, a small grant to develop your idea, or both.
